A Dental Prosthetist is a registered health provider who is legally able to provide full, partial, implant overdentures and mouthguards direct to the public.

Do I need a referral to see a Dental Prosthetist?

No, a referral is not required to see a Dental Prosthetist.

How long should my dentures last?

Depending on the type of dentures and your maintenance regime, dentures can last anywhere from 5-8 years before replacement or relining may be an option.

What is an implant overdenture?

An implant overdenture is a denture retained in the mouth by 2 or more implant attachments. These dentures are removable and are most commonly used to stabilise full lower dentures.

What is an immediate denture?

An immediate denture is a full or partial denture inserted on the same day and immediately following the extraction of the natural teeth. These dentures are in most cases permanent but must be relined in the ensuing 12 months in order to accommodate the tissue resorption.

Should I sleep with my dentures?

This is a personal choice, but from a hygiene point of view, dentures should be left out at night.

How long will my dentures take to construct?

Depending on the type of dentures required, construction can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

Can I use my health fund?

Yes, as a registered health provider we are recognised by all Australian health funds.
